Loose Lips Sink Ships

from £75.00

Title: Loose Lips Sink Ships
By: Tim Stephens
About the artwork: After hearing someone say “Loose Lips Sink Ships” I was inspired to create an artwork based on this unique phrase. The subject’s hair resembles a rough ocean and her finger to lip gesture expresses a warning against gossip! The ship featured is The Matthew, a vessel sailed by John Cabot from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497. A reconstructed replica of the ship can be found in Bristol docks. This artwork was hand drawn using fine liner pens and the hair was coloured with inks. The remaining colour was achieved digitally.
